Kayla Guyett
Jicarilla Apache
Kayla has worked in Native education for over 13 years, outside of the school day, as a classroom and culture teacher, in a district-wide position and at a state level. This wide range roles throughout our education system has allowed Kayla to see the various barriers our Native students, language, and culture face when in a western education setting. Kayla participates and supports the revitalization of language and culture through varied traditional crafts, games, and storytelling with students, and has continued this work with Cattail Rising.
